Advertising & Magazines assessment: Learner response

1) Type up your WWW/EBI feedback in  full   (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential). WWW:  - I was able to analyse unseen media products  - Knowledge of print advert conventions - Some knowledge of historical, social and cultural contexts in relation to OMO CSP. If yes, make a note of the right answer here for future revision:  - I hadn't gotten any wrong I just needed to add more to make it better. Eg. Doctor Who: Industry and Audience blog tasks

  1) Who is the target audience for Doctor Who? Has it changed since 1963? -  The target audience masses from (12-40), which has really changed since 1963 and has a large increase in viewers. 2) What  audience psychographic groups  might particularly enjoy Doctor Who? - Age - probably much older/ retired people. Even older teenagers, because of Susan. - Genger - Now as the time is passing more of both males and females are watching.  - Race/ ethnicity - I don't think this one is specific because they now include more o f a diverse cast. 3) What audience pleasures are offered by An Unearthly Child? Apply Blumler and Katz's Uses and Gratifications theory to the episode. Personal Identity: Being able to relate to the characters, for example teenage audience that relates to Susan.   1) How does An Unearthly Child reflect the social and historical contexts of the 1960s? - They had old-fashioned chalkboards in the back, because of the time period which was modern back then. It gives the full effect of a school, the chemistry class has chemical bonding/ chemistry equations too. 2) How might audiences have felt towards science fiction in the 1960s? - Because it was somethin g new it would've been really shocking for the audience, The Sci-Fi genre wasn't very common so it probably really intrigued them. 2) How does  Todorov's theory of equilibrium  apply to An Unearthly Child? - The story starts off normal with no disruptions, two teachers are confused and suspicious about their student Susan Foreman which starts building up to the disruption, with the feud between Ian and the grandfather, and to where they all enter the TARDIS and travel to a new place which is seen as the new equillibrium. 3) Applying P ropp's character theory , what character roles

Television: Introduction to Science-fiction TV drama

1) How does   Class  meet the conventions of a TV drama series? - The class meets the convention of a drama TV series because it consists of things like Aliens, space, technology, species, planets etc. 2) What conventions of the science-fiction genre can you find in the  Class  trailer? List as many as you can and use NCIS to help you. - The class trailer has many genres such as horror, mystery, sci-fi (and a bit of romance). It's setting/based in a school, home, office...  It has characters of Teenagers/schoolkids, teachers, monsters, vampires and demons... The trailer shows the young adults fighting these monsters, or enemies with a bit of drama shown in it. By drama i mean it had relationships and a bit of romance. These teenagers are seen to be fighting off enemies and monsters. The ensemble cast has many high-tech weapons, which can really help add more suspense and action. 3) What other genres are suggested by the trailer (e.g. horror)?
